• 4th Grade

    Grading policy

Each 6 weeks, students will have 2 tests, projects, or quizzes that will make up 40% of their grade. Additionally, there will be a minimum of 8 daily grades that will be averaged in at 60%.

Assignments that are missing will be documented as a “M” in gradebook. In gradebook a “M” shows up as a zero and is averaged in as such. Missing assignments may be the result of a student who has been absent or not completing their assignments. Any assignments that are not completed during class time should be completed during intervention, at recess, or at home for homework. In addition, tutorials are held on Mondays and Tuesdays from 7:40-8:10 if a student should need clarification or extra help. Once the grade has been documented in gradebook students have 3 days to turn the assignment in. Ten points will be deducted for each day the assignment is late.

Students are given ample opportunities throughout the day to complete their assignments and it is imperative that all assignments are turned in.

Daily assignments receiving scores below 70 may be corrected to receive a grade of 70. The corrections must be completed in red ink and should be completed within a week of the date that the assignment is due. Corrections may be completed at home or during intervention.

Tests will be corrected during intervention; all students who fail the test will participate in a group activity to correct their tests. However, the grade will not be changed.
